What size air conditioner do I need?
As a rough guide, a living area needs around 0.15 kW of cooling per square metre, adjusted up for high ceilings, lots of sun or west-facing glass, and down for bedrooms. Our calculator does this for you and matches it to a real unit. We always confirm the exact size on site for free before you commit.
Is bigger always better?
No. An oversized unit short-cycles — it cools fast then switches off, leaving the room humid and wearing the system out faster. The right size runs steadily and efficiently. That's why we size to the room, not just round up.
Can you size a whole house?
