Normal, not a fault
On a cold morning the outdoor coil frosts over. The system reverses for five to fifteen minutes to melt it, so the indoor fan pauses or blows cool and the outdoor unit steams. Then heat comes back. Every reverse cycle does this.
Worth a call
It never comes back to heat, cool air runs much longer than fifteen minutes, the outdoor unit stays iced up all day, or it trips the power. That is a fault and it does not fix itself.

My reverse cycle is blowing cold air on heat mode. Is it broken?+
Not always. On a cold Perth morning the outdoor unit ices up, and the system runs a defrost cycle to clear it — indoor fan stops or blows cool for five to fifteen minutes, then heat returns. That is normal. If it never recovers, blows cold for longer than that, or the outdoor unit stays iced up all day, something is wrong and it needs a look.
Why is my heating weaker than last winter?+
Usually a filter or coil packed with a summer's worth of dust, so the system can move heat but not air. Sometimes it is low refrigerant charge, which means a leak. Occasionally it is a failing outdoor fan or reversing valve. The $239 diagnosis tells you which of those it is rather than guessing.
Does the $239 cover heating as well as cooling?+

Almost always a failing capacitor, contactor or compressor drawing too much current on start-up, and it will get worse. Stop using it and call. This one is worth same-day.
